The study itself that I'll do sounds neat. I'll spend the night at the office, attached to a bunch of gadgets (sorry I don't know more, I'll write more about it after I go), and the next morning, they'll know more. The next time you go to your doctor, if you have high blood pressure, ask him or her if sleep apnea is a possibility, it's worth checking for.

Sleep Apnea and High Blood Pressure
On Monday, I'll be going to a sleep specialist to find out if I have sleep apnea. Apparently, this condition, where you stop breathing in your sleep and, in effect, choke yourself into waking up, is common among hypertension sufferers. The crazy thing about sleep apnea is that 'waking up' doesn't mean you wake up, in most cases, it simply pulls you out of REM sleep, which your body needs to recharge. Over time, sleep apnea causes lower oxygen levels, and can raise the blood pressure even higher, and make the heart beat more forcefully.

I have it and I recently did that whole procedcure. I found out I had it when I was 18. I did a sleep study and recieved a CPAP. It was an earlier version. It sucked, very uncomfortable. So I stopped using it for 10 years. Living like that looking back now...was retarded. I was retarded for letting myself do that. I was useless and could never finish anything I ever started because I would get tired and sleepy all the time. I was a ZOMBIE. Then last year I decided I really needed a change and went through the process again. The technology is much better now. I have a full face mask that I can keep on all through the night. It also has a blowoff feature that makes it MUCH easier to exhale. It was like waking up for the first time. My emotions were all over the place for the first couple of months and I had all this energy. It was very strange and took some time to adjust. Now this machine is my crack. I cant live without it. I dont want to. I never want to feel that way I did for so long ever again.
