The High Blood Pressure Epidemic Among the Poor

As the number of people who suffer from hypertension rise, it's more and more clear that we are dealing with an epidemic outbreak of the condition. As I've said before, American (and European sometimes as well) diet are so unhealthy on average, full of fatty and salty fast foods and processed grocery bought foods as well that it's causing these people to be very unhealthy.

It's a vicious cycle for some, who can't afford to absorb the cost of buying natural foods, which are substantially more expensive. Heck, poor people are preyed upon by the fast food industry. Ever driven through a 'poor neighborhood' before? They're littered with fast food restaurants. They're cheap, they don't have a dress code, and it's, by and large, lower class people who work there as well as eat there.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy, but the poor are definitely kept unhealthy.
